The June 30TH Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (MBEIC) Industry Group Launch was a tremendous success. The forum was held at the Wells Fargo Conference Center - Downtown PhoenixThe Council's MBEIC kicked off its new Industry Group Initiative June 30th. Over 130 attendees were there for the launch. Over 40 Corporate and Government representatives were there to witness the launch and ask questions about how it benefits their organizations as Members of the Council. The event was fully attended and supported by the Council Board of Directors. The feedback has been tremendous. The Council President/CEO commented that "Now it is time for us at the Council office to go to work, and we will need each and everyone of you to be engaged as we get to work".Where Stimulus Money is Going by StateWe will continue to share information on where the stimulus money is going between new spending, aid to states and tax cuts. The Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council (GCMSDC) was established in 1993 as a private-sector non-profit organization, and received its affiliation with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in 1994.
GCMSDC is the "pre-eminent" Arizona regional organization of corporations and MBEs which provides increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes. We are the Arizona regional affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. In addition to providing on-going services and acting as a resource center for minority businesses, the GCMSDC can provide access to capital through its participation in the Business Consortium Fund, Inc. Currently, the Council is comprised of Local and National Corporate & Government Members; as well as nationally certified MBEs who are a strong presence in Arizona.
